Yesterday awoke with the rain pitter pattering in the court outside our window. One word bellisimo!
It’s one of those days at the end of it you are absolutely exhausted but you feel incredibly blessed! We experienced the most amazing sites!
It starts as we made our way from our room to the terminal (trains) to get a phone card and also money out. We got distracted & bought presents/ souvenirs. The terminal/ train station is a shopping mall! Kind of like the galleries in town hall.As we were walking to the collosium (let’s be honest here, I have no sense of direction & guess who I take after) long story short we got a bit lost. We bumped into a guy who directed us to a bus tour.
We made the most of this bus tour, all around the city of Rome! In fact we even got off several times to eat and re joined the bus! Quite a saving I say- 12 euro for the whole day, unlimited times and you could get on & off as you pleased.
We saw the most amazing architecture and sites!
Mum decided we should investigate a side street as in her words “it looks important” little did she know it definitely was! We get to the end and it turns into a massive mansion- which looks to me like a parliament type of building. I make my way over to the somewhat sterile looking Italian police officer, which I found out later is a guard for the residence. I ask the man “mi scuzi sinjoir, what is this building”. He gives me a blank look… I ask again and ask him if it’s a parliment house, or a museum, or an empty building. He answers promptly “presidents palace residence”… I walk away and think to myself he must have thought I was the dumbest woman! mum & I laughed for ages.
All in all we had an amazing day, we found a quaint restaurante near Trevi fountain and ate the most amazing pizza! Drank wine and reminisced about our day. We were so tired on the way home, got the giggles & forgot where we lived. “turn the map around” “no it’s the right way, we go this way” “mummmm your going the wrong way”…
Finally we get home, and tucked in to bed…
It’s raining again :)

We arrived at 9pm Italian time (5:30am Sydney tym), 19 hrs later and my ankles turned into kankles! & no sleep for 24hrs even with sleeping tablets. Mainly due the fact I had a screaming kid kicking my chair.
Mum and I saw a lovely Irish man (not short) & we asked him how the heck do we pickup our bags- well we had to get on some sort if tram and walk a long time to pickup our bags.
We caught a very black ghetto shuttle. Lets be honest I loved it & I spoke some broken Italian to our driver. The Italian man was great he showed us the city. Our accommodation is right in the heart of Roma and a walk to the collosium.
They say when in Roma do as the Romans do… So we ate a typical gelato dish and managed to get a shower and in bed by 11pm.
Mumma slept great, snoring away. I lay awake 2:30, 4:50 onwards. I start to get excited and hungry. Dreaming what is outside these walls & what grand adventures & amazing ppl we may come across.
And to end yesterday’s adventure… Italian mineral water… Holy cow! I hope we get this in heaven!
Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
